The Centre of Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (CMW) specializes in materials designing, manufacturing, shaping, machining and testing in the following areas: iron, cobalt and nickel alloys, non-ferrous metal alloys, mould technologies, computer-aided technologies, additive manufacturing technologies, sintering techniques, metal cutting and tooling, high temperature investigations and corrosion tests.

Scope of tasks performed at the workplace:

  1. Organization from scratch of a new research team in the area of Powder Materials and Processes (PMP). It encompasses the development of new and functionnalised powder materials and processes to manufacture tailor-made powders for targeted industrial applications.
  2. Shaping, in cooperation with the Directorate, the area’s science and research policy.
  3. Defining the preferred directions of development in the area of the Powder Materials and Processes (PMP) area.
  4. Supervision, planning and implementation of research and experimental work.
  5. Acquiring key national and international projects and supervising the quality of research and development work carried out in the area.
  6. Initiating, supervising and supporting the scientific development of the employees of the area.
  7. Drafting and verification of the texts of articles intended for publication in the represented area.
  8. Representing the Institute outside in contacts with clients.
  9. Initiate national and international scientific and technical cooperations with stakeholders to establish an international renowned Powder Materials and Processes (PMP) center.
  10. Carrying out work aimed at the practical adaptation of research results and participating in their implementation and dissemination.
  11. Conducting trainings.
  12. Close cooperation with the Center Manager and the Management

Requirements for candidates:

  1. Extensive knowledge of materials development an characterisations and powder production processes
  2. Doctoral degree and 5 years of experience in the R&D sector, including the independent conduct of research projects.
  3. Capability to upscale lab process at the industrial level including the technical and economical aspects.
  4. Documented experience in collaboration with industrial partners in the scope of R&D works.
  5. Knowledge of English in speech and writing at least at B2 level.
  6. Main place of employment declared as the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Krakow Institute of Technology.
  7. Knowledge of the national and European sources of research funding.
  8. Very good organization of own work, communication skills and teamwork skills.
  9. Analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  10. Ability to carry out many tasks and projects simultaneously.
  11. Ability to work in conditions of rapidly changing priorities.
